Lexi - Swimming Success Jan 2021

Talented Sports Pupils

In the world of sport 2020 proved to be a challenging time for many elite and talented sports people with many competitions cancelled and access to training facilities proving difficult.

At Notre Dame we are privileged to have a number of highly talented pupils and it is always wonderful to hear about their sporting achievements out of school.

Lexi - Swimming Success Jan 2021

Lexi T (Year 7) is a talented swimmer. Back in February of 2020, after 3 weekends of racing at the London Aquatic Pool, Crystal Palace and Surrey Sports Park, Lexi achieved 6 Individual gold medals, 2 Relay gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal. She became the Under 11 Surrey Champion for the year by winning the most FINA points. Soon after this the onset of COVID-19 meant that Lexi did not manage to get back into a swimming pool until the end of July. In October Lexi managed to achieve amazing PB’s in the 50m and 100m Freestyle despite having missed four months of training and, with these times, she finished 2020 ranked 10th Nationally on the ASA rankings in her age group – a great achievement and something to be very proud of in such a difficult year!

Fingers crossed that it won’t be too long before Lexi is back in the pool training and competing again.
