Surrey Schools’ Athletics Championships
On Saturday 10th June five athletes from Notre Dame were selected to represent North East Surrey at the Surrey Schools’ Athletics Championships, held at Kingsmeadow Athletics Stadium in Kingston.
All five girls competed very well in their respective events. In the Inter Girls 200m Preeti G came 5th in her heat with a time of 28.8 seconds; Steph W came 8th overall in the Inter Girls Javelin with a best throw of 20.81m; Emily S came a fantastic 3rd in the Senior Girls 1500m in a time of 5.43 minutes, timing her sprint finish to perfection to overtake the runner in front of her to medal; Ciara S finished in 5th position in the Inter Girls High Jump with a clearance of 1.38m and Carmen R, also competing in the Inter Girls High Jump, achieved a new PB with a clearance at 1.59m to win the event and become Surrey Schools’ champion – a great achievement. Congratulations to all five athletes on their selection and their performance at the Championships.
West Surrey Prep School Athletics Competition
On Tuesday eight pupils from Years’ 7 + 8 competed in the West Surrey Prep School Athletics Competition at The Spectrum in Guildford. It proved to be a good day with the girls all rising to the occasion and performing very well, despite the strong competition and hot conditions! Particular congratulations to Michelle E who won the Year 8 Shot Put with a distance of 8.88m and has now qualified to represent West Surrey at the National Finals in Nuneaton on Monday 3rd July. Well done to all the girls that competed.

Inter House Cricket Results
It was fantastic to see all girls in years 7, 8 and 9 take part in the Interhouse Cricket Tournaments last week. Their skill level and game play has certainly come on nicely across all three year groups, which made for some really exciting games and a great competition. The girls seem to really enjoy themselves in the sun and away from their exams for a few hours!
