U14B vs Caterham School

On Wednesday an U14B team travelled to Caterham School to play in a 7-a-side match. Despite Caterham being the stronger team, ND persevered in their efforts and it was great to see their positivity and encouragement of one another. Aliya C, GK, was deservedly voted ‘Player of the Match’ for pulling off numerous fine saves, but it was good to see a collective effort by the team and they were rewarded for their efforts by three fine goals.

Congratulations  to everyone who played: Aliya C, Maya H, Anna L, Clio S, Lucy M, Olivia S, Eva S, Grace P, Emelie G, Tallulah P

Netball

U12A and B vs Howard Of Effingham School

U12 Netball v Howard

U12A: Emma F (captain), Isabella H, Lexie H, Harriet F, Poppy H, Bella K, Bella M, Lottie W

This was the first match in the Manor House league for our U12A team.  Another great team performance by this squad with all 8 players taking to the court.  The match was played over 4 quarters of 10 minutes each, one of the longest matches so far for this team and they all coped with the longer time very well showing good overall fitness.  To date, the U12 A’s have played 4 matches and come away with 4 wins, Notre Dame beat Howard by 9 goals to 4, well done all!

The opposition named Harriet F as their Most Valuable Player for this match.

U12B: Jessica S (capt), Allegra B, Samantha F, Lily O, Kyra S, Amelia H, Freya B, Maya L, Hollie J, Heidi G, Evelyn F, Alice D

The U12B team worked really hard throughout their match against Howard with the scores level for much of the fixture.  There were many excellent performances across the court by the Notre Dame team and despite a huge level of commitment, Howard just managed to close out the game 8 – 6 in their favour.

The opposition named Jessica as their Most Valuable Player for this match.

U16A and B vs Manor House School

U16  A:  Preeti G (capt), Zahara H, Sofia M, Rebecca P, Rebecca H, Ciara S, Alexia W, Miila E, Amelia S

U16 A Netball v Manor House

The U16 A team are just getting better each match they play and tonight was no exception.  A great win against a very strong Manor House team by 23 – 15 with all 9 players taking to the court and contributing strongly.  Notre Dame turned over the ball numerous times throughout the match and showed maturity and composure in their play to convert the turnovers to goal.  There were passages of excellent play all down the court with the team full supporting each other throughout the match.

The opposition named Alexia W as the Most Valuable Player.

U16 B:  Emma M (capt), Gracie H, Caitlin M, Chloe G, Evie H, Stephanie W

U16 B Netball v Manor House

The opposition named Gracie H as the Most Valuable Player.

It is going to be a fantastic weekend of netball here in London.

Interesting Fact!

I played my last game for England Netball, my 33rd cap at Wembley Arena on 22 April 2002 against Australia (we lost sadly)!!  I then had to retire due to injury so missed the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester as a player but commentated throughout!
