We are delighted to announce that Notre Dame Senior School has been selected as a Microsoft Showcase School for 2026-27.
This recognition places us within a global community of schools that are leading innovation in education and reflects our commitment to ensuring that both staff and students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to thrive in an increasingly digital and AI-enabled world.
This recognition follows the launch of our Digital Strategy and on using technology purposefully to enhance teaching and learning. A key part of this has been the integration of OneNote Class Notebooks enabling teachers to share lessons resources with students, provide feedback and support our students in becoming more independent learners. Alongside this, students continue to develop the digital skills, independence and organisation that will support them both in school and beyond.
This status also recognises our thoughtful and proactive approach to artificial intelligence. Developing AI literacy across both staff and students has been a key priority, ensuring that emerging technologies are used safely, responsibly and effectively, while maintaining the importance of critical thinking and independent learning. We are committed to helping students use AI responsibly and appropriately, ensuring that it does not replace the effort, thinking and understanding that lie at the heart of learning. Our recently introduced AI Traffic Light Guide for homework and independent learning provides clear guidance on when and how AI can be used appropriately, helping students develop good habits and make informed decisions about its use
Professional development has played a central role in this journey. A significant number of our teaching staff have been recognised through Microsoft’s educator programmes, with ten teaching staff currently holding Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert status. Their commitment to exploring and sharing innovative approaches continues to help drive excellent practice across the school.
