Year 3 Match Report – Milbourne Lodge & Downsend

Last week, the Year 3 girls took to the court for two exciting fixtures against Milbourne Lodge and Downsend, showing fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork, and growing confidence in their match play.
In both games, the girls demonstrated brilliant energy from the first whistle. Their commitment to moving into space, supporting teammates, and applying the skills they have been working on in lessons was clear to see. There were some excellent passages of play, determined defending, and moments of real attacking creativity.
Against Milbourne Lodge, the girls settled quickly, passing the ball with increasing accuracy and showing impressive determination when competing for possession. Their teamwork stood out, with every player contributing positively to the flow of the game.
In the fixture versus Downsend, the team rose to the challenge once again. They worked hard to apply feedback from previous matches, showing better positioning, confident running with the ball, and perseverance against strong opponents. Their resilience and willingness to keep trying new skills were truly admirable.
Across both matches, the girls represented the school brilliantly. They supported each other, celebrated small successes, and grew in confidence as the week went on. Most importantly, they played with smiles on their faces and demonstrated a genuine love of sport.
A huge well done to all the Year 3 players for their effort, positivity, and sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of how far they have come already this season and look forward to seeing their continued progress.
U11 Netball v LEH Match Report

The U11 Netball teams enjoyed a challenging fixture against a strong LEH side, with our A–D teams all facing competitive and well organised opposition. While the results did not fall in our favour on this occasion, the matches provided valuable experience and many positives to build upon.
Across all teams, there were encouraging signs in attack, with players showing growing confidence on the ball and making good use of space. Passing combinations improved as the games progressed, and there were some excellent attempts to move the ball quickly through the court into the shooting circle. Defensively, the girls worked hard to apply pressure, with several strong interceptions and determined marking demonstrating good awareness and effort.
Despite the challenging score lines, the U11s showed resilience, teamwork and a positive attitude throughout. The players should be proud of their commitment and willingness to learn against tough opposition. These fixtures have highlighted clear areas of progress, and with continued training and match experience, the teams are well placed to keep developing as the season continues.
U9 Netball vs GHS – Match Report

Our U9 A and B teams travelled to GHS for a competitive afternoon of netball, showing determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout both matches.
B Team Match
The B team played with great energy and battled hard from start to finish but were defeated 3–6. Despite the result, the girls worked well together in attack, creating several strong scoring opportunities, and their defensive effort improved as the match progressed. Their perseverance and positive attitude were clear to see.
A Team Match
The A team also faced a strong GHS side and, although they were unable to secure a win, they gave everything on court. Their movement, passing, and teamwork were impressive, and they continued to work hard right up to the final whistle. The commitment shown by every player was commendable.
Both teams represented the school brilliantly, showing sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout. Well done to all the U9 players!
U9 C & D Netball vs MHS – Match Report

Our U9 teams travelled to MHS this week for a great afternoon of netball, with both the C and D teams putting in determined performances and showing real progress throughout their matches.
D Team Match
The D team produced an exciting contest, narrowly losing 2–3 in what became a dramatic finish. After trailing 0–3 going into the final quarter, the girls showed fantastic resilience and teamwork. Their defensive pressure increased, passing became more confident, and they were rewarded with two well earned goals in the closing stages. Despite running out of time to level the match, their spirited comeback was a highlight of the afternoon and a credit to their determination.
C Team Match
The C team also played with great enthusiasm and demonstrated strong skills across the court. Their movement, spacing, and defensive marking improved as the game went on, and they created several promising shooting opportunities. Unfortunately, despite their effort and good build up play, they were unable to convert their chances and finished on the losing side. However, their teamwork and technical ability were clear to see, and there is plenty to build on going forward.
Both teams should be proud of their efforts, attitude, and sportsmanship. Well done, U9s!
