Y6 Jersey Tour 2026

Year 6 Girls Shine on Sport and Culture Tour to Jersey

What a fantastic trip for these fabulous Year 6 girls, who set off last week on their Sport and Culture Tour to Jersey!
Excitement was high from the start as the girls arrived in bright pink tour T shirts and began the day with a cricket skills session led by Mrs Purgavie. They then travelled to Heathrow and enjoyed a quick flight to the island, arriving at their hotel to settle in, meet roommates, and enjoy a popular self service supper. The evening ended with fun at Dante’s nightclub before a well earned rest.

After a “pancake fest” breakfast on Day 2, the girls headed to cricket training with the Jersey Cricket Academy. Despite blustery conditions, they showed great determination. The afternoon brought adventure, with high ropes, zip wires, and the King Swing, all conquered with impressive bravery. After supper, there was more evening entertainment back at Dante’s.

Day 3 focused on culture with a visit to the fascinating WW2 War Tunnels. The girls were fully engaged, asking thoughtful questions and gaining a real sense of life during the occupation. After lunch at Pizza Express, they played a cricket match against St Michael’s School, with some girls delighted to see alumna Rose W. A relaxing swim followed, before the much anticipated disco night, where impressive dance routines made judging very difficult!

On the final day, the girls visited Jersey Zoo, where the flamingos and cheeky lemurs were firm favourites. After a quick stop in the gift shop, they enjoyed lunch on the beach before returning home, tired but full of wonderful memories.

A huge thank you to this fantastic Year 6 group for being such great ambassadors, and to the dedicated staff team Mrs Morgan, Mrs Plummer, Mrs Jones, Mr Lawson Lean, Mrs Hutton and Mrs Kewley, who made the trip so special.

An unforgettable experience for all involved!
