Year 12 Inspiring a Love of Maths Across the School

ND6 Posts - Maths Assembly

Our Year 12 A-level Mathematics students recently delivered an engaging and insightful assembly to Year 5, Year 6, and the Senior School, focusing on the importance of understanding and studying mathematics.

The girls spoke confidently about how maths extends far beyond the classroom, highlighting its role in everyday life, future careers, and problem-solving. Year 12 shared their own experiences of studying A-level Maths, offering practical advice on how younger girls can build confidence, stay curious, and develop resilience.

A key message throughout the assembly was that maths is not just about getting the right answer, but about understanding the processes behind it. The presenters encouraged the girls to ask questions, embrace mistakes, and see challenges as opportunities to grow.

The assembly concluded with an interactive quiz, which proved to be a great success. Girls from all year groups participated enthusiastically, demonstrating impressive knowledge and teamwork while enjoying a fun and competitive atmosphere.

Overall, the event was both informative and inspiring, showcasing the leadership of our Year 12 mathematicians and encouraging a positive attitude towards maths across the school community.
