Sport

The PE department aims to help pupils develop mentally, physically and socially as individuals, groups and teams. Through the range of activities and experiences that PE offers pupils should feel valued, happy and challenged to perform to the highest standards.

Facilities

  • Sports Hall with badminton courts, volleyball court
  • 4 Netball Courts and 1 indoor court
  • Full size hockey ‘astro turf’ pitch
  • 25m indoor swimming pool
  • 2 Cross Country running tracks
  • 4 Tennis Courts

Fixtures

The girls take part in competitive sporting matches against others school from Year 3 with the introduction of ‘fun, coaching’ games for year 2 pupils with other schools.

The girls compete in Netball, Hockey, Football, Tennis, Athletics, Cross Country, Cricket and Swimming.

Curriculum

ND runs an inclusive curriculum allowing the girls an opportunity to take part and try a wide range of sports to help broaden their skill level and understanding of the sports available to play both in and outside of school.

These include; Netball, Hockey, Badminton, Tennis, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Dance, Swimming, Cricket, Athletics and Cross Country.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 girls have 2.5 hours of PE a week including swimming, dance and PE.

Years 3 -5 have 4.5 hours of PE a week with year 6 having almost 5 hours, including Dance, Swimming, Curriculum PE and a Games afternoon for the whole year Group.
