Mrs Morgan welcomed everyone back to the first assembly of the Summer Term!
She began by talking about Easter and reminding us all that Easter is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus which gives hope and confidence to us all. Easter celebrations are not just for Easter Sunday. The season of Easter lasts for 50 days; all the way until 8 June.
On Easter Monday Pope Francis died and Mrs Morgan talked about his great commitment to working for justice and peace and his influence was wide-reaching. Pope Francis reminded us that all in our world are neighbours and that we have a duty of love and care towards all others …and he gave – and encouraged us to give – priority to the poor and the needy …He cared for God’s creation and he modelled compassion for all God’s people.
Pope Francis gave encouragement and challenge to young people.
