Notre Dame Girls Shine at WSA Meet – 6th June

Sports Posts West Surrey Athletics Competition

The Notre Dame School girls put in an impressive performance at the West Surrey Athletics Competition held on 6th June at the Guildford Spectrum. Participating were girls from Years 6 to 8, they competed in a range of track and field events including hurdles, sprints, middle-distance runs, relay, javelin, high jump, and long jump. It was a highly competitive day, but the Notre Dame girls showed resilience, determination, and team work throughout.

Standout Performances

Year 6

Ella delivered a strong performance in the Javelin, securing a well-earned 3rd place.
Lydia impressed in the 800m, pacing her race perfectly to finish in 3rd place with an excellent time of 2:50, showing maturity and tactical awareness beyond her years.

Year 7

Emily had a remarkable day, beginning with a 2nd place finish in the hurdles heat and going on to take 2nd place in the final. Her consistency continued in the 100m, where she again finished 2nd in both her heat and the final. Emily’s outstanding performance has put her in strong contention for national qualification—an exciting prospect for the school.

Year 8

Ava delivered one of the most exciting performances of the day in the 800m final. After a steady first 600m, she turned up the pace in the final stretch, overtaking several competitors to claim a hard-fought 3rd place.

While individual highlights shone through, the day was defined by the girls’ collective spirit. Every athlete gave their best, cheered each other on, and represented Notre Dame School with pride and determination. A huge congratulations to all the girls who competed, you were fantastic ambassadors for the school.
