Cross Country

GHS Cross Country – Event Report

On Monday, our girls took to the fields of Stoke Park in Guildford for the annual GHS Cross Country event, competing with determination, resilience, and great school spirit against a strong field of ten schools. We were unstoppable!

The course offered a true cross country challenge, with the girls navigating open stretches, gentle inclines, and fast downhill sections. Throughout the afternoon, they demonstrated excellent pacing, teamwork, and admirable grit.

U8 Team – Another Team Victory!

A huge congratulations to our U8 team, who continued their impressive run of form by securing another team win. The girls raced with confidence from start to finish, showing excellent commitment and smart running.

A special mention goes to Marina, who delivered a superb performance to finish 2nd overall in a highly competitive field. Her strong start and determined finish helped anchor the team’s success.

U9, U10 & U11 Performances

Our U9, U10, and U11 girls also ran brilliantly, each group showing excellent progression and competitive spirit. Their combined performances were full of energy and perseverance, with many athletes finishing strongly in their age-group races.

The strength and depth across these teams contributed significantly to Notre Dame’s overall standing in the event.

Overall Result

Thanks to consistent and determined running across all age groups, Notre Dame placed 4th overall out of the 10 schools competing. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the girls’ hard work and enthusiasm for cross country this term.

All of the girls should be incredibly proud of their performances. They represented the school beautifully—not just through their running, but through their sportsmanship, team support, and positive attitude throughout the afternoon.

Primary School Fitness Challenge

Last Friday, our girls took part in the Primary School Fitness Games hosted at Seaton House. Despite competing in relentless rain, the team demonstrated outstanding resilience, determination, and school spirit throughout the event.

The girls tackled every challenge with enthusiasm and teamwork, showing real grit even as conditions became increasingly difficult. Their positive attitude and effort were clear to see, and they represented the school brilliantly.

We are very proud to share that the team finished 4th overall—a fantastic achievement given the tough weather and strong competition.

We are now awaiting the results from Qualifier 2, which will determine whether we progress to the Final in May. Only the top 10 schools across both qualifying events will earn a place, and we are hopeful that our strong performance will secure us a spot.

Regardless of the final outcome, the girls should be extremely proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school. Well done to all involved!

Football

U10A–D Football vs St Teresa’s – Match Report

The U10 girls enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of football on Tuesday as they faced St Teresa’s across four spirited fixtures. From first whistle to last, the ND squads showcased excellent teamwork, determination, and growing confidence on the ball.

Their hard work paid off, with ND winning three out of the four matches.
Across all teams, the girls demonstrated great attacking play, strong defending, and—most impressively—a willingness to support one another and play as a unit. Whether it was pressing high to regain possession, stringing together multiple passes, or showing bravery in 1v1 situations, the players represented the school brilliantly.

Each team had standout performances, and the following girls were recognised for their contribution, effort, and positive attitude:

• Vlada
• Miabella
• Olivia A
• Andie Ray
• Jocelyn

It was a wonderful display of enthusiasm and sportsmanship from every ND player. The girls should feel incredibly proud of their performances, and this set of results highlights just how far they have come with their football this year.

A huge well done to all who took part!
