ISFA GSA U13 Football Tournament Success

On Thursday, our U13 football team travelled to Warwick to compete in the ISFA GSA tournament, with a squad made up of girls from Years 7 and 8.
The team started strongly in the group stages, finishing an impressive third place, losing only two games out of six, with one of those defeats coming against the eventual tournament winners. This excellent group performance saw the girls progress into the Plate competition.

In the semi final, the team showed great determination and teamwork, securing a hard fought one nil victory to reach the final. The final proved to be a tough challenge against a school with several highly skilful players. Although we conceded an early goal, the girls showed tremendous resilience and refused to let their heads drop, creating a number of excellent chances. If not for an outstanding performance from the opposition goalkeeper, the result could easily have gone our way.

We are incredibly proud of the performances, attitude, and togetherness shown throughout the day. The girls were a real credit to the school and represented us superbly.
Well done to all involved.

The standout batting partnership came from Sophia and Freya, who contributed a strong 31 runs together and provided stability at the crease.

Mia Lily also earned Player of the Match in recognition for her fielding. As wicketkeeper, she played a crucial role, catching batters off guard with her sharp reactions and awareness behind the stumps.

The team’s greatest strength throughout the match was their excellent teamwork and communication. Looking ahead, the team will focus on developing their bowling to further strengthen their overall performance.

It was a highly competitive game, with all players demonstrating great enthusiasm and commitment throughout.

Netball

Congratulations go to two of our netball players here at Notre Dame who have both received awards for their performances in this last netball season.

Netball Awards for Alice and Freya

Freya S in Year 12 was voted Putney Netball Club’s Most Valuable Player for the 2025/6 season. Freya has continued to be a hugely pivotal player here at school too and we would also like to offer her congratulations on passing her Into Officiating umpire qualification through England Netball.

Alice C in year 9 was voted Thames Ditton Netball Club U14 Most Improved Player for 2025/6 season. Alice joined the club this season and has excelled at defence, asking questions and being willing to try new approaches. She has been pivotal in the backbone of Thames Ditton defence for the B Team but has equally shone when playing for the A team, making an interception in the first 30 seconds of being on the netball court!

We are proud to have both Freya and Alice here in netball at Notre Dame!
