U11 IAPS National Swimming Championships Report
Saturday 6th June 2026 – London Aquatics Centre
The U11 IAPS National Swimming Championships reached an exciting and inspiring conclusion on Saturday 6th June, as the country’s most promising young swimmers gathered in the iconic Olympic pool at the London Aquatics Centre. The event was a true celebration of participation, opportunity, and achievement, bringing together around 1,500 pupils from across the UK and overseas, supported by an enthusiastic crowd of more than 3,000 spectators.
The atmosphere throughout the day was electric, with swimmers rising to the occasion in one of the world’s most prestigious aquatic venues. Across a packed programme of events, the Championships showcased incredible talent and determination, culminating in 51 champions being crowned, with medals awarded across all disciplines and team trophies recognising both individual excellence and collective strength.
Team Representation and Success
Our team of Holly, Isla, Grace and Theia delivered an outstanding collective performance, demonstrating both depth and consistency across events. Their teamwork, resilience, and competitive spirit were evident throughout the competition and contributed to a hugely successful day.
The relay teams were particularly impressive:
• 🥉 Medley Relay – 3rd Place
• 🥈 Freestyle Relay – 2nd Place
These podium finishes reflected the team’s excellent coordination and ability to perform under pressure on the national stage.
Individual Highlights
There were also exceptional individual achievements from the squad:
• 🥇 Theia Routley – Gold Medal, 50m Butterfly
• 🥈 Grace V – Silver Medal, 50m Backstroke
Both swimmers showed remarkable skill and composure, delivering standout performances in highly competitive events.
A Championship-Winning Team Performance
In a truly remarkable accomplishment, the girls’ team medalled in every event they entered, both in individual races and relay events. This exceptional consistency and collective strength led to them being crowned U11 IAPS Swimming Champions for their age group—a fantastic and well-deserved achievement.
