We were delighted to host our annual Sports Awards on Friday, an evening filled with pride, inspiration and celebration as we recognised the dedication, resilience and achievements of our outstanding athletes. 🏊‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏑⚽🏐💙💛

A special thank you goes to England rugby player Sophia MacDonald 🏉, who joined us to present the awards. Her powerful and motivating speech left a lasting impression on our students, encouraging them to believe in their potential both on and off the field. 👏✨

In our all girls school environment, every student is empowered to step forward, lead, compete and thrive in sport with confidence. Whether in the pool, on the track, or across the netball court, hockey pitch and football field, we are incredibly proud of our award winners and the determination they demonstrate every day. 🌟💪

Congratulations to all who were recognised. You are a true inspiration to our school community!

Biathlon

Annual Biathlon against SWP

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon competing against SWPS in our annual biathlon. With blue skies and sunshine throughout the event conditions were perfect for an exciting afternoon of swimming and running.

The girls demonstrated great determination as they completed a challenging 100m swim before transitioning into a 1600m run around our beautiful school grounds. It was wonderful to see everyone giving their best effort and supporting one another throughout the event.

Congratulations to all our competitors, with Lucy P and Ana M finishing as our top Notre Dame performers in joint first place, followed by Emily L in second and Amaya B in third.

Well done to everyone who took park and represented the school so positively.

Laser Run

This term, Notre Dame has proudly introduced Laser Run to the curriculum, giving pupils an exciting opportunity to develop both their physical fitness and precision skills. The sport, which combines running and shooting, has already proven to be a fantastic challenge for the girls, and their progress has been impressive.

In the early stages, the focus was on learning how to safely and effectively use the laser pistols, with the girls practising their aim on electronic targets. Through determination and consistent practice, they quickly developed confidence, improving both their accuracy and control.

A key challenge has been the 50-second shooting window, in which the girls aim to hit 5 targets before heading back out to run again. This has encouraged focus, resilience, and quick recovery, with many pupils’ showing remarkable improvement in their ability to settle themselves and shoot accurately after a run.

Throughout the sessions, the girls have demonstrated excellent enthusiasm, teamwork, and perseverance. Their willingness to embrace a new sport and push themselves outside their comfort zones has been particularly pleasing to see.

The introduction of Laser Run has been a great success so far, and it is clear that the girls are developing both physically and mentally through this exciting and dynamic activity.
