Senior Inter-House Drama Winners 2026

Inter-House Drama Competition Crowns Best Play of 2026

The much-loved Inter-House Drama Competition returned this year in spectacular fashion, continuing a proud Notre Dame tradition that has been running for over 30 years. This unique event sees Year 10 GCSE Drama students take the lead, working in house teams from January to plan, direct and produce original 30 minute plays, performed to the whole school in May.

The project offers a valuable opportunity for students to apply their performance knowledge in a real world context, while developing leadership, organisation, creativity and communication skills by directing younger pupils across the year groups.

This year, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome renowned West End performer Georgina Castle as our guest judge. Georgina, best known for her role as Regina George in Mean Girls, brought with her a wealth of industry experience and shared glowing feedback about the talent, creativity and professionalism on display across all houses.
Trained at the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Georgina has enjoyed an outstanding career, with roles in major productions such as Mamma Mia!, Dirty Dancing, 9 to 5: The Musical and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella. Most recently, she received critical acclaim for her leading role in 50 First Dates: The Musical, with reviewers describing her performance as “superb” and “show stealing”. Her experience also spans television work with the BBC and performances at the Royal Albert Hall.

After a closely contested competition, Montaigne were crowned winners with their imaginative and engaging production of Hansel and Gretel. Montferrant took the runner up spot with their dynamic performance of Beauty Queen.

Individual performances were also recognised, with Isobel O winning Best Newcomer for her role as Hansel, and Michelle O awarded Best Actor in Year 8 for her portrayal of the Witch, both in Hansel and Gretel. Evelyn F and Hollie J shared the Best Actor award for their highly physical and comedic performances as the Scissormen in Beauty Queen.

The Inter-House Drama Competition once again proved to be a highlight of the school calendar, showcasing exceptional talent, teamwork and creativity. Congratulations to all involved in making this year’s event such a resounding success.
