🌼 Infant Assembly – Father’s Day
This week’s Infant Assembly focused on the celebration of Father’s Day. Mrs Hunt spoke to the girls about the many different forms that families can take and reminded them that there are all sorts of ways to be a father.
She explained that some children have one dad, while others may have two. Some families may include a stepfather, uncle, grandfather, or special friend who plays an important fatherly role. In other families, a mother may take on the responsibilities of both parents. Mrs Hunt emphasised that Father’s Day is an opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to all the fathers and father figures who support, guide, and care for us.
The girls also learned that in some Catholic countries, Father’s Day celebrations are linked to the Feast of Saint Joseph, the patron saint of fathers. Mrs Hunt shared how different countries mark this special occasion and encouraged the girls to think about their own Father’s Day celebrations. The assembly ended with the girls enthusiastically sharing how they would be spending the day with the special father figures in their lives.
