National Schools Biathlon Qualifier

National Schools Biathlon Qualifier
Year 3- 6th Form

A group of determined ND girls took part in the Downsend Biathlon, showcasing their athleticism and competitive spirit across two challenging disciplines. The event was split between two venues: the swimming leg took place at Downsend School, while the running component was held at the Guildford Spectrum, providing a fantastic setting for the girls to push themselves in pursuit of qualification for the National Schools Biathlon Finals in March.

Each athlete gave their all in the pool, demonstrating strong technique and stamina. The transition to the track at Guildford Spectrum saw equally impressive performances, with the girls showing great pace, determination, and focus throughout their runs.

The event was not only a test of physical endurance but also of mental resilience, and the ND girls rose to the occasion with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and look forward to hearing which of them will progress to the national stage.

Special mentions to Jessica in Year 3 who finished 5th, Freya Craig who finished

U10A-C Hockey v HSA

The ND U10 hockey teams took to the pitch with great enthusiasm and determination in their recent fixture against HSA. Across three exciting matches, the ND girls showcased excellent teamwork, impressive ball-carrying, and developing skills that made for a thrilling afternoon of hockey.

Out of the three matches played, ND secured a well-earned victory in one, with the other two matches providing valuable learning experiences. The girls demonstrated fantastic resilience and a growing understanding of positioning and passing throughout the games.

There were standout moments of individual skill, with several players confidently carrying the ball up the pitch and creating attacking opportunities. The defensive efforts were equally commendable, with players showing bravery and commitment in protecting their goal.

Overall, it was a positive outing for the ND U10s, who continue to grow in confidence and ability with each match.

Well done to all the players for their effort and sportsmanship!

U9 Hockey v HSA

Notre Dame’s Year 4 hockey teams put on a fantastic display in their recent double-header against HSA, with both teams securing well-deserved victories.

The Notre Dame girls showed exceptional teamwork and resilience throughout their match. Their defensive skills were outstanding, with players consistently intercepting passes and blocking shots. Their carrying skills were equally impressive, allowing them to move the ball confidently up the pitch and create scoring opportunities. The play of the day came from Sophie W, who made a heroic goal-line save just as the final whistle blew, securing the win and capping off a brilliant team performance.

Both teams should be incredibly proud of their efforts and teamwork. Well done, Notre Dame!
