U18 Tennis Friendly – Notre Dame vs St Teresa’s

Notre Dame’s U18 tennis team enjoyed a competitive and enjoyable friendly fixture against St Teresa’s this week.

On Court 1, Freya and Lola were involved in several closely fought matches, recording wins of 7-6, 14-4 and 7-5. They worked well together and competed strongly in some very tight contests.

On Court 2, Sophie B and Willow recovered well after a difficult start, picking up impressive wins of 10-4, 9-5 and 6-4. Their communication and determination improved as the afternoon progressed.

On Court 3, Esme and Sophia N had an excellent afternoon, recording a draw and three wins. Their standout result was a 6-5 victory over St Teresa’s strongest pair, showing great composure in a closely contested match.

Overall, it was a positive afternoon for the Notre Dame team, who won more matches across the fixture and represented the school well with their effort, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Well done to all the girls involved.

U14 v St Teresa’s

What a great afternoon of tennis in which 6 pairs of our U14’s played a round robin competition against St Teresa’s! Despite the weather which veered from beautiful sunshine to torrential rain, just like Wimbledon, the girls all put in so much effort and put on some great competitive tennis throughout the fixture.

All of our pairs had success with every partnership winning at least half their matches which is a great result overall. Particularly impressive on the day were Lottie W and Olivia K who won 6/7 of their games but all 12 players deserve huge credit for the way in which they represented Notre Dame. Well done to all players:

West Surrey Athletics Event Report

It was a fantastic day of athletics at the West Surrey event, where our girls competed with determination and excitement for the opportunity to qualify for the National Finals in July.

Across the day, there were some outstanding performances and a number of excellent results. Although our Year 5 athletes are not eligible to qualify for nationals this year, they represented the school superbly, gaining valuable experience and achieving some fantastic results to be very proud of.

A special mention goes to Theia and Miabella, who delivered exceptional performances in the 75m sprint, taking Gold and Silver medals respectively. Theia continued her excellent form by securing Gold in the 600m, while Miabella added to her success with another Gold in the High Jump, capping off a remarkable day for both athletes.

There were also strong performances in the older age groups. In the Year 7 High Jump, Eva produced a brilliant effort to claim 2nd place, while Ella delivered an excellent performance to finish 2nd in the Year 7 discus. In the Year 8 High Jump, Amelia achieved a well-earned 3rd place finish.

A huge congratulations must go to Emily in Year 8, whose outstanding performances in both the Long Jump and 75m Hurdles have seen her qualify for the National Finals—a fantastic achievement and a testament to her hard work and talent.

Beyond the medals and results, the day was a wonderful reflection of the team’s spirit, resilience, and sportsmanship. A particularly commendable moment came from Florence, who showed great kindness and awareness by helping athletes from another school following a fall involving four competitors—an example of true sporting values.
Overall, it was a brilliant day filled with personal bests, excellent teamwork, and outstanding support for one another. The girls should be incredibly proud of both their performances and the way they represented the school.

The ND Community Fun Run, held over the weekend, was a wonderful celebration of community spirit, health, and togetherness. It proved to be a fantastic morning, bringing together parents and girls from across the ND community to enjoy the beautiful school grounds in a relaxed and active setting.

With a mix of running and walking, participants of all ages and abilities took part, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Friends ran side by side, families walked together, and there was plenty of encouragement and laughter along the way. The event was less about competition and more about participation, enjoyment, and connecting with others.

The school grounds provided the perfect backdrop, allowing everyone to make the most of the fresh air and scenic surroundings while staying active. It was great to see so many smiling faces and such a strong turnout from the community.

Overall, the Fun Run was a great success—an uplifting morning that highlighted the strength and positivity of the ND community. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it such an enjoyable occasion. We are already looking forward to hosting another event in September.

Rowing

It was a busy and challenging weekend at the Walton and Weybridge Regatta for Martha and Lilly. Battling strong winds and persistent rain, both girls showed tremendous determination, delivering some exceptionally strong rowing and coxing performances throughout the event.

A special congratulations goes to Lilly, who secured victory in the J13 Singles competition with an outstanding performance.

Overall, it was a weekend of exceptional racing, with both girls demonstrating skill, resilience, and commitment in difficult conditions. They continue to enjoy a sensational season, and we look forward to seeing what they achieve next.
